Hi.
I have in my vSphere environment 4 ESXi 5 hosts, all of them connected with redundant path towards the storage arrays. Now i need to remove one path on each host because i want to create a fabric with one of the san switch used by the host and another third switch. What is the best way to do the process?
I was thinking:
1. Take the host to maintenance mode
2. Detach all LUNs connected to that path i want to remove
3. Remove all LUN mappings for this specific path - at the SAN level
4. deactivate, on the san switch, the zone connecting that vmhba (for the path i want to deactivate) with the SAN
5. Take the host out of maintenance mode
This way the host should come back on line nicely and the VMs should not notice something.
Does anybody see something wrong with this plan?
Thank you!
