Vcenter V6 and Business Continuity

Hi all,

I wonder to know if there is a simple and easy infrastructure to achieve this universal goal. Building a simple and robust Vcenter V6 architecture.

The main objective is to share all services and data between to nodes (active / active or active / passive).

Heartbeat has been discontinued, so what is the correct path to achieve this ?

After reading a lot of litterature on PSC and VC, i am surprised by the complexity of these new architectures. https://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=2108548

In order to avoid a single point of failure we need 2 PSC and 2 VC and in some case an additionnal load balancer....!!!

I guess if we build 2 VC then we get 2 databases and 2 datacenter ! Then its difficult to manage vms and hosts if they are on the failed vcenter

I want to do that with V6 appliance and i prefer to avoid MSCS and stuff like that to minor complexity.

This guide  https://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/techpaper/VMware-vCenter-Server-6-0-Availability-Guide.pdf explain different scenarios but all are involving HA or MCSC.

Is there another solution ? Do you know a good step by step or pdf guide ?

Thanks for your help and advices.

Regards

R
